On the evening of July 24 local time, Hodeidah in Houthi-controlled Yemen was hit by air strikes, the Saudi-led coalition said. The coalition said it struck Houthi military sites in Hodeidah directly linked to threats against Red Sea commercial shipping, called the operation a 'moderate military response', and said Hodeidah port was not a target and all local ports remain open to shipping. The coalition warned it would 'respond without compromise' to further Houthi hostile actions and would take necessary measures to protect its vessels and Saudi interests. Houthi-affiliated Masirah TV reported strikes hit a state telecom facility in Hodeidah city and that Kamaran Island off Yemen’s west coast was also attacked.
